KWV – Cape Town – October 2015

It was the day South Africa beat USA 64 – 0 in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.  It was also the day our Come Wine With Us guests enjoyed a fantastic 3 course food and brandy pairing menu created by KWV Brandy and Beluga Restaurant.

After the excitement of the game, guests enjoyed welcome drinks in celebration of our win which featured KWV’s new Cruxland Gin – a grape-based London dry gin distilled with rare Kalahari truffles.

On the menu for the evening our guests could choose between a roasted veg “tarte”, duck liver crème brûlée, or a Firecracker sushi roll to start, paired with a glass of Laborie Brut MCC which had been infused with a shot of KWV’ 5 year old brandy.

Mains were paired with KWV’s Reserve range of wines, and it was a choice of slow-braised shoulder of lamb paired with KWV Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, mushroom gnocchi also paired with their Cabernet Sauvignon, or an angry chicken curry paired with KWV Reserve Sauvignon Blanc.

Dessert was the ultimate brandy lovers treat as guests were able to sample both the KWV 12 year and 20 year – two of the finest in the KWV brandy range – paired with either a chocolate sundae or white chocolate beignets.

The evening was a true celebration of all things proudly South African, from our Springboks and the delicious dishes prepared by the Beluga team, to the exceptional gin, wines and brandies from the KWV range.

We’d really like to thank both KWV and Beluga for creating such an incredible evening for the October Come Wine With Us event.  It was smiles all round which to us is a true testament of a great night out.

We’d also like to say thank you to Bernard Bruwer for all the beautiful photos of the evening.  To see all the photos from the event, do visit our Come Wine With Us Facebook Page.

And then finally an extra big thank you to everyone who joined us for this last event of 2015.  We wish you all a blessed festive season and hope to see everyone back again in the new year.
